Robot Skull Paper Toy
Back in 2007 Noah Scalin at skulladay.com released a papercraft skull with an articulated jaw. In 2010 Scalin re-imagined the papercraft skull in robot form. I think the robot skull is loads more fun than the original. ^^ Templates for both the original and the robot skull may be downloaded here. There is also a blank template available if you care to create a custom skull of your own.
Papertoy Monsters Review
Brian Castleforte's much awaited Papertoy Monsters book is now out!!! Included in the book are 50 original die-cut monsters designed by Brian and 24 of the top papertoy designers from around the world. The book measures 8.5 x 11 which is similar to the size of card stock we normally use.
The parts pre-cut and scored so all you have to do is pop 'em out, fold and glue. The parts are also printed back-to-back. Each monster has its own story as well. The art work are also very cute=)
Also included are 10 different blank templates that you can design for yourself. I'd love to try and paint some of them when I get some free time.
Get to know the 25 papertoy artists who made this fun book possible.
I've managed to build 5 adorable monsters for this review. That means there's 45 more left to build. That's a lot. I wonder when I'm gonna be able to build them all. From left to right are Sal Azad's Wingy Wingy, Dolly Oblong's The Blob, Brian Castleforte's Monsters Keepers, Jenni Bryan's The Experiment and Nick Knite's Tongue Toastie.
This is definitely a must-have papertoy book for anyone who loves papercraft and monsters alike. This would make an excellent gift and a perfect way to introduce someone to the wonderful world papercraft. Available now for only $16.95.
Papertoy MonstersI want to thank Jillian of Workman Publishing for sending me a copy of this book.

San Francisco Street Car Paper Model
This San Francisco street car papercraft was created by Archidigm, a firm that provides training in computer-aided drafting. The process used to create the paper model involved importing digital photos of a street car into a drafting program (AutoCAD) where the features of the car were traced with lines. The resulting line drawing was then opened in Adobe Photoshop where color and shading were added. An outline of the steps to create the model (as well as a printable template for a green street car) may be found here.

Kingdom Hearts Papercraft: Cid Highwind's Goggles
I finally got around to finishing another Kingdom Hearts papercraft. This is a 1:1 scale paper model of Cid Highwind's goggles as they appear in the Kingdom Hearts II video game. Cid Highwind first appeared as a character in Final Fantasy VII. After FFVII, Cid appeared in several more video games, including both Kingdom Hearts I and II. Although his appearance differs from game to game, one constant of his costume is a pair of goggles perched on his forehead. As the template for the goggles consists of only one page of five parts, I give this papercraft a difficulty level of a mere 1 on a scale of 5. A download of the template is available here.

Up Miniature Carl's House Papercraft
That cute little house looks really familiar. Well, it's Carl's house from Disney Pixar's Up movie. This model from Michal Miszta can be pretty tough to build and needs to be painted. If you want the bigger version, go get the version from paper-replika.

Pixar Papercraft: Carl's House Miniature
This miniature papercraft of Carl's house from the 2009 Disney Pixar movie Up is not your usual paper model. First, it is built with three different weights of cardboard and paper. Second, it is hand painted instead of making use of a computer printer for color. If you feel adventurous enough to attempt building one of these yourself, the creator of the house, Michal Miszta, has graciously provided a copy of his template here.
UPDATE 11/27/2011: The author of this papercraft no longer offers the template for the house, but additional photos of his build may be viewed here.

From Willie Beren is a Street Dog sporting the colors of the Philippine national football team's Azkals. Despite having the oldest national team in Asia, football or soccer is not that popular in the Philippines. However, the team's success in the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup, the sport has gained some followers. Azkal which was derived from askal means "street dog" in Filipino.
