Kingdom Hearts Papercraft: Dream Rod

After completing a papercraft Dream Sword from the Kingdom Hearts II video game, I set my sights on producing paper models of the other two "dream" weapons from the game. Here at long last is another one in the set: the Dream Rod. The Dream Rod is a mystic weapon and as such it is wielded by Donald Duck, who in the game is the Royal Magician. If you observe the Dream Rod during game play its seems to be about baseball bat size, but for this model I chose to make it closer to "magic wand size" at around 24" (61 cm) long. 8-Bit Video Game Character Pop-Ups

The Cubeecraft website now has a side project of pop-ups called "Pixel Pages". As you might expect from the title, these pop-ups primarily feature classic 8-bit video game characters, however other pop culture characters in pixelated form are available too. Pictured above are Link from Legend of Zelda, Disney's Scrooge McDuck, Gizmo from Gremlins, and Mega Man. Templates for all 32+ characters may be downloaded here.

Disney Papercraft: Lady and the Tramp Paper Toys

These Lady and the Tramp paper toys remind me of Valentine's Day. I'll let the folks at listverse explain why:

Kingdom Hearts II Christmas Town Treasure Chest Papercraft

This is the last papercraft treasure chest I plan on doing for my Kingdom Hearts II treasure chest series. However, I might be talked into doing a couple more if there is enough interest. ;) In the KH2 video game, this treasure chest is found in the Christmas Town area which in a certain sense is a subset of the Halloween Town area. Papercraft Skull #3: KH2 Oogie's Manor

This papercraft skull is based on a 3D model of a skeleton that appears in the Oogie's Manor area of the Kingdom Hearts 2 video game. Oogie's Manor, of course, is the lair of the Oogie Boogie from Disney's Nightmare Before Christmas. The skull is presumably from one of the Oogie's victims who perished in his torture chamber. This skull reminds me of Mexican Day of the Dead skulls and I suspect it would look sweet under a black light. ;) The template for the skull may be downloaded here. KH2 Olympus Treasure Chest Papercraft

Here's another treasure chest papercraft from Kingdom Hearts 2. This chest can be found in the Olympus Coliseum area of the video game. Olympus Coliseum is based on the 1997 animated Disney movie, Hercules. The template for this treasure chest is available here. Some of the previous treasure chests in the series include: Aladdin, Mulan, and Disney Castle.

V.I.N.CENT Robot Paper Model

In the 1979 sci-fi Disney movie, The Black Hole, three of the main characters are robots. This paper model by Andreas Hanstein is of the robot named V.I.N.CENT. The papercraft template for V.I.N.CENT is available here. Two styrofoam ball halves painted black are glued to the bottom of the robot to give it the appearance it has in the movie.

Mickey Mouse Paper Toys

Back in 2009, designer Matt Hawkins created two Mickey Mouse paper toys. On the left is Mickey as he looked in his first cartoon, Steamboat Willie. On the right is the modern version of Mickey we all know and love. A download of the toys is still availabl at joeyinteractive. (look for the link labeled "Disney Paper Toys") The zip file contains both the paper models pictured above and also a papercraft stage on which to display them. KH2 Papercraft: Halloween Town Treasure Chest

Here is October's offering in my continuing series of papercraft treasure chests from the Kingdom Hearts 2 video game. It was obvious this month that I had to do the treasure chest from the Halloween Town area of the game! ^^ Halloween Town is based on the world of Tim Burton's movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Disney World Pizza Paper Toy

I have been slacking off on my pizza paper toy series. The last pizza toy I released was back in February 2010! Here is finally a new one. When you order a large pizza at any one of the many resorts at Walt Disney World in Florida it comes in a box with a picture of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto on the lid. This paper toy is a mini version of that box. The pizza inside is a plain cheese pizza, 'cause that what the little ones like best. :) The template for this paper toy may be downloaded here.

KH2 Papercraft: Timeless River Treasure Chest

I have completed an eighth Kingdom Hearts II treasure chest papercraft. In the KH2 video game, this treasure chest can be found in the Timeless River area. Timeless River is world from the past modeled after Disney's 1928 black and white animated short, Steamboat Willie. The template for this treasure chest may be downloaded here.

Stitch's Ray Gun Papercraft

The Disney character Stitch (from the 2002 animated movie Lilo & Stitch) appears in the Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep video game for PSP. Also called "Experiment 626", Stitch sometimes makes use of a ray gun. This paper model of Stitch's ray gun is based on a 3D model from KHBBS. The gun is full scale and measures about 7"(17.8 cm) in length. The two page, eight piece template for this papercraft may be downloaded here. KH2 Papercraft: Beast's Castle Treasure Chest

Here is treasure chest papercraft number seven in my ongoing series of Kingdom Hearts 2 treasure chests. This chest can be found in the Beast's Castle area of the the video game. The Beast's Castle area is based on the 1991 Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast. The treasure chest has a pattern of stained glass roses on the lid. Rat Chef Origami

Here is a delightful origami piece by Nguyen Hung Cuong which he calls "Rat Chef" (an homage to Disney Pixar's Ratatouille perhaps? ^^). The rat, the chef hat and the spoon were each folded from separate piece of paper. The folding pattern for the rat (spoon and hat not included) may be downloaded from Cuong's page here.
