Nintendo Papercraft: Meta Knight Mask

Meta Knight is the sometimes ally, sometimes enemy of Kirby in Nintendo's Kirby series of video games. Meta Knight first appeared in Kirby's Adventure released in 1993. This papercraft Meta Knight mask by Objsolid comes in both 10" (25.4 cm) and life size versions. The Pepakura PDO templates for the masks may be downloaded here.

8-Bit Video Game Character Pop-Ups

The Cubeecraft website now has a side project of pop-ups called "Pixel Pages". As you might expect from the title, these pop-ups primarily feature classic 8-bit video game characters, however other pop culture characters in pixelated form are available too. Pictured above are Link from Legend of Zelda, Disney's Scrooge McDuck, Gizmo from Gremlins, and Mega Man. Templates for all 32+ characters may be downloaded here.

Full Scale Papercraft Mega Man X Helmet

To date, the Capcom character Mega Man (a.k.a "Rockman") has eleven different video games that bear his name. This full size, wearable paper model is of Mega Man's helmet as it appears in Mega Man X. The model was created by Zorn Taov and his template may be downloaded here. Zorn created the model from scratch and did not make use of a 3D model from the video game. The build photo above is by Paperart.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Papercraft: Pit

I don't have much information on this papercraft of the character Pit from Nintendo's Kid Icarus series of video games. What I do know is that the template for the paper model was created by former DeviantART member Sora243 in 2008. The model may have been based on a 3D model from the Super Smash Bros. Brawl video game, although I can't say for sure. Pit is an angel from the mythical world of "Angel Land". Papercraft templates in PDF and PDO format may be downloaded here.

Pop Culture Paper Toy Tubes

Designer and animator Eduardo Souzacampus has created a delightful series of simple paper toys which he calls "Tubeland". Each of the toys is assembled by rolling a single piece of paper into a tube, then gluing it in place. Pictured above are the paper toys representing Darth Vader, Carmen Miranda, and Nintendo's Mario. A wide range of pop culture characters are available including historical figures (Da Vinci, Mozart, etc), cartoon characters (Betty Boop, Flintstones, etc), and soccer players (Pele, Ronaldo Fenomeno). One of my personal favs is the Heath Ledger Joker paper toy. All 24 of the Tubeland paper toys may be downloaded here.

Chibiterasu Papercraft

Here is an awesome Chibiterasu papercraft by Lyrin-83, one of the most talented papercrafters on DeviantART (in my humble opinion ^^). Lyrin created the 3D model and the textures for the papercraft template all "from scratch" rather than using a 3D model extracted from a video game. Chibiterasu is the young wolf from the Nintendo DS game Okamiden which is a sequel to the Playstation 2 and Wii game, Okami. Lyrin has provided a link to the template for this paper model here.

Nintendo Papercraft: Toad Paper Toy

Toad is a character who has appeared in numerous Nintendo video games. He lives in the Mushroom Kingdom and is one of Princess Peach's most loyal servants. This paper toy Toad was originally posted on a Japanese website as late as 2006, but sadly the web page is no longer up. Fortunately, Denise at the "Oh! Crafty Me" blog has a copy available for download. Go to her page here and look for the link near the bottom of the page to get the template.
