Mini Harry Potter Paper Toys: Snape, Luna & Lily

Gus Santome at Mini Papercraft has produced some delightful mini Harry Potter paper toys. The currently available toys include Severus Snape, Luna Lovegood and Lily Evans (Harry's Mom). Hopefully Santome will create more characters in the future. A fun feature of these toys is the fact that each one is double sided with a different facial expression on each side. Harry Potter Papercraft: Harry, Hermione and Ron

These Harry Potter paper models are the creation of Noturno Sukoi. 3D models from the "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" video game were used as the basis of the papercraft figures. The models include Harry Potter himself, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. When complete, each of the models stands around 15 3/4" (40 cm) tall. As is typical with much of Noturno's work, these papercraft models are recommended for experienced papercrafters only as customization of some pieces may be required in order to get the models to fit together properly. Templates are available in both PDF and PDO format and may be downloaded here.

Back in 2008, a German model railroading enthusiast (who is also a Harry Potter fan) wowed the online papercrafting community by releasing a complete N scale paper model of Hogwarts Castle. Part of the release included a paper model of the Quidditch Field at Hogwarts. The Quidditch Field is a papercraft gem that may have been overlooked by many people in the larger release of the castle, so today I am giving it the recognition I think it deserves. ^^ The template for the Quidditch Field may be found here along with the templates for the other buildings at Hogwarts.

July 2011 Build Photos

I have been receiving some great build photos lately! On the left is a photo of John George who built my Death Eater Mask #3 to wear to the opening of the final Harry Potter movie (kinda reminds me of Doctor Doom ^^). On the right is a build of my Sam's Identity Disc (Tron: Legacy) by my DA friend Wylf who enhanced the papercraft with some clear plastic and el-wire. Keep up the good work guys!

Around Halloween last year I released a series of seven papercraft Death Eater masks. I am adding an eighth mask to the set this year as I patiently wait for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie to be released in November. :) As with the previous masks, there are both full size and half size templates available. Gregory Belland sent me this excellent build photo of my Death Eater Mask #1 papercraft. Greg told me he built the mask for a friend then took this photograph which he entitled Death Eater Prepares. Seeing this photo makes me want to do some more Death Eater masks. ;) Nice work Greg!

Harry Potter Papercraft: Death Eater Mask #7

Here is the final mask in the Death Eater mask series. Some officially licensed product manufacturers list masks similar to this one as "Bellatrix's mask" while other sources indicate that a mask design like my papercraft Death Eater Mask #1 is the mask of Bellatrix Lestrange. If there is a Harry Potter fan out there who can clear up this discrepancy, please let me know. :) The template for Mask #7 may be downloaded here.

UPDATE 7/15/2011: This is no longer the final mask in the series! ^^ There are now Mask #8 and Mask #9.

Five masks down and two more to go. Like Death Eater masks number one and two, this mask is based on a drawing rather than a photograph. The picture above really doesn't do justice to the intricate detail that can be seen in the PDF template of the mask. The drawing this papercraft is based on may have been done as a preliminary design by whoever built the metal mask that Death Eater mask #3 was based on.
